Hi everyone i'd like 2 Share some cool pc tricks with you dat I learnt , All r very simple n some funny, most of would knew of it....
Okay, lemme put dat here right now as im quite bored of giving prolouges before saying.
- ☺Got Bored! Of staring at The same “Windows Xp” Boot Screen.
How abt going for one like “Hello (Your Name)” or ur fav quote with ur photo beside. Like d 1 of mine in dis image.,
so y late download a small tool from the following site and install it., dis is a freeware.

After installing You can access n modify the default Bootscreens,
just go to this path
“ C:\Program Files\Stardock\WinCustomize\BootSkin\skins\ “ (if u installed in default location)
and right click n open the .bmp images in “mspaint” make it in Your Style as ..
Or you can search for more Boot Screens from the same site
- ☺Personal Dustbin!! Sounds Crazy ☺isnt it!!
Ok lets see dat, Want to Hide your folder, so dat ur bro/sister can’t see ur personal files in your computer.
Here’s d trick….
Disguise them to "Recycle Bin"
Rename any folder with extension {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
Eg:
if u've a folder “personal”
press F2,
then type,
" personal.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"
c the magic....
Now right click n make it “Hidden” in properties, dats it.. even u cant c dem now.
2 get to original form,
Unhide it and remove the extension using the command
"ren personal.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} personal " in dos or as a bat file
- Ok 1 more funny trick..,
How does My Computer looks with no Drives like d one here,
To do dis
♦ Open Start-->Run-->regedit
♦ Now navigate to the following registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Now in the right pane create a new DWORD item and name it "NoDrives".
Now modify it's value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal)
♦ Now press F5 to refresh.
Gone..! u cant c ur drives now.
To enable display of drives in My Computer
Simply delete this DWORD item, u hav jus created.
- Wanna Scare ur frnds,
Ok next time u access ur frnd’s pc, just create a Shortcut for Forcible restart and place dat shortcut in Startup.
Voola..! now every time he starts his computer it restarts automatically. So he can never start his pc.
To Cancel dis reboot in “safe-mode” and delete dat shortcut from Startup.
Make sure ur pc is starting in safe-mode first. - Want Your drives look special with some cool icons,
♦ Open Notepad and type “[autorun]” and “icon=(location of icon file u need).
Eg.
[autorun]
icon=D:\icon.ico
and Save as with the filename “autorun.inf” in the Drive for which u want dat icon.
Note:
"autorun.inf" and "ico.ico" must be in the root of the drive.
example: c:\autorun.inf and c:\icon.ico.
same on the root. - Speed Up Ur Shut down !!
♦Start Regedit.
♦Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control.
♦Click on the "Control" Folder.
♦Select "WaitToKillServiceTimeout"
♦Right click on it and select Modify.
♦Set it a value lower than 2000 (Mine is set to 200). - Imidiate rapid shut down window
while shutting down window.
♦Open task manager(Ctr+Alt+Del),
♦Select shut down tab. and press ' Ctrl ' key while selecting Turn Off from dis tab.
♦Count 5 4 3 2 1 Voila!!! U r window will rapidly shut down. - Remove Stored username and Passwords !
♦To remove the Stored User Names and Passwords from your system, try this:
♦Click Start, Run and type "Control keymgr.dll"
♦Remove the entries from the list.
♦The other ways to access this dialog are:
♦Type Control Userpasswords2 in RUN box, click Advanced, Manage Passwords-or-
♦From Control Panel, select your User Account, click Manage your network passwords
- DISPLAY MESSAGE ON STARTUP.
♦Start regedit,
♦Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
♦Modify the key legalnoticecaption with what you want to name the window.
♦Modify the key legalnoticetext with what you want the window to say.
Restart now - Using Windows Xp Still wanna some smart ‘Side bar Gadgets’,
Just download yahoo widgets dats my suggestion, dey have a very good look.
